Registering retrobat and xbox one controller guide buttons

I'm new here, just installed retrobat a few days ago and started doing so!

I am using two controllers, an 8bitdo controller and an xbox one controller.

The 8bitdo controller is able to register and control all the buttons!

However, the xbox one controller does not allow me to assign the center guide button to hotkeys.

I turned off the xbox gameber in the windows 10 settings screen, but I still can't register it by pressing the button.



Can someone please tell me how to do this?

it is not recommended to use the "guide" button on Xbox controllers for the hotkey.

It is strongly advised to use the select button (back)

On some systems, the Guide button does not work properly.

Is it just not recommended?
Isn't it impossible? If so, I'd like to know how to do that.

The select button may be used during the game.
It's a shame that the number of buttons that can be used is reduced.

There is a lot of process that use this button (Gamebar, Nvidia...). Is the reason why it's not recommended.

BTW hotkey will be used only in combinaison with another button. So no problem to use select (got a XBOX gamepad, and doing like that).

But when you press the select button, the game responds to the select button.
After all, a hotkey should be a button that doesn't apply to anything.
I'd like the hotkey to be the guide button, even if it stops all other processes that use it.

all you have to do is find a controller that has more buttons.

The truth is that retrobat can't use the guide buttons on the xbox controller, right?

You can try it.
But if you got a strange behaviour, or that it don't work correctly, you will understand the reason of our recommandations.

You can turn off the Xbox Game bar in Windows then, use a free app like "Antimicro" to map keyboard keys, or a macro, to the guide button. I use it for those times where hotkey+start doesn't exit the emulator, and have mapped the guide button to the ESC key.I do the same with PS4 controllers in the free DS4 app. Hope the info helps.

Did you uncheck the case below ? Because if you don't it won't work.
I'm using the xbox button as a hotkey without problem on retrobat.
